Bosporus Strait
The Bosporus Strait runs through Istanbul to connect the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara and, via the Dardanelles, the Mediterranean. It is the sole maritime outlet for Black Sea grain and Russian oil exports, and passage through it is governed by the Montreux Convention.
